SUMMARY:Slovenia\, including Monte Zoncolan
DESCRIPTION:This cycle tour of Slovenia and neighbouring Italy will showcase the absolute best riding in the Julian Alps. Slovenia is a stunning small country sandwiched between Italy\, Croatia\, Hungary and Austria. \nMessrs Roglic and Pogacar have certainly helped to put this beautiful nation on the map. \nOur six days of riding will include the beautiful lakes at Bled and Bohinj before heading to the cobbled climb of Vrsic that climbs out of Kranjska Gora. \nWe’ll enjoy the beautiful Soca valley and move on to the highest and most challenging climb in Slovenia\, the Mangart Saddle. \nSTOP PRESS! – Seeing the incredible recent time trial in the Giro that took the pros up Monte Lussari we’ve decide that we’re going to ride it too! Only recently paved for the Giro\, this seriously tough climb is open to cyclists this summer\, but only for going up! The obligatory descent is done by cable car! This is one of the most spectacular places you could ever dream of and will be an exciting new addition to this trip. \n \nThe latter part of this trip will see us ride into Italy with brief sorties into Austria too. \nMonte Zoncolan will be our final day challenge\, with its 10 kilometres at a 12 per cent gradient –  a tough finale to this dramatically beautiful tour. \nDetails of each day’s route for this tour will appear here soon. \nEach day of the tour will involve 80 – 120kms of riding with 1500 – 2500m of climbing. \nAs with all of our tours adventurous riders will always have the opportunity to do more if required! \nDuring the Slovenia tour\, riding distances won’t be huge\, but the climbing will sometimes be very steep. \nMonte Zoncolan and several other climbs on this tour will provide a significant challenge to any level of rider. \nThe main prerequisites for the Slovenia Trip are that you come prepared and are happy to ride for 5-6 hours each day. \nMost riders on this trip will have already ridden in high mountains\, but not always. \nAs is always the case\, please contact us to find out if this trip suits you. \nWhat’s included\n\n6 days of fully supported rides (mechanical assistance\, vehicle support\, guides).\n7 nights of accommodation\, twin share\, in a combination of Agriturismo and 3/4 star hotel accommodation.\nBreakfast and dinner are included on all days.\nTransfers to and from Venice Marco Polo Airport.\nEnergy drink powder\, bananas\, and pastries are available at all times on the rides.\nAlpine Cadence bidon with a complimentary pack of bars and gels.\n\nWhat we don’t include\n\nTravel insurance.\nLunches.\nFlights.\n\nContact us to learn more or to book. \nTravel information\nFlights into Venice Marco Polo Airport on Saturday should land before 1400 to leave the airport at around 1500. \nTransfer time from the airport at the beginning of the tour is around 1 hour and 15 minutes. \nDeparture from Venice Marco Polo Airport on the final Saturday of the trip should ideally depart at 12 midday or later. \nTransfer time at the end of the trip is around 1 hour 45 mins. \nThere is also the possibility of transferring from and to Treviso or Trieste airports. \nTalk to us before booking flights to ensure they work conveniently with our transfer times. \nPlease contact us to find out more or to make a booking.
