Alpine Workshop

Our Alpine Workshops are a great way to enjoy great riding and learn at the same time. Spectacular guided rides in the day under the watchful eye of a qualified coach. Evening lectures to inform and improve performance. The perfect combination for the keen rider wishing to get better.
The schedule
Wednesday May 15
Arrive Geneva airport (aim to book a flight arriving between 1300 and 1600). Collection by minibus and return to our Tarentaise base (transfer time approx 2 hours). Make up bikes, briefing, dinner
Thursday May 16 - Saturday May 18
These days will involve rides of 90-120km and around 2000m of climbing. A typical day will involve a ride start at around 9am. In the saddle for 4-5 hours with breaks on top. The exact itinerary will be dependant on weather and rider levels. Climbs that are likely to be on the agenda will be Col des Saisies, Col des Aravis, La Rosiere and Notre Dame du Pre. Each day's riding will be followed by afternoon tea back at base, optional massage (additional cost) followed by a review/lecture on different subjects each day. These will include such areas as climbing/descending techniques, training plans, tactics, bike set up and mental approaches to improving performance.
Sunday May 19
The Sunday will also involve a substantial ride of up to 100km followed by an earlier return to base at around 1pm to pack and prepare for your return. Departure from our chalet will be at around 14.30 to catch flights out of Geneva from 1800 onwards.

Who is this trip aimed at?
This trip will suit all rider levels. This trip is ideal for anyone who wants to ride the Alps but has not done so before. A rider who perhaps aspires to one of our bigger trips might use this as an entry point to gauge their fitness, moving onto bigger things the following year/trip. Stronger riders will enjoy this trip, especially as a training block for events to follow later in the season.
